What is the procedure for retrieval and recovery?

The retrieval takes 15-20 minutes and takes place in our office. introducing an ultrasound-guided needle through the vaginal wall in this non-invasive outpatient procedure. The needle is using to extract mature eggs from your ovarian follicles after draining the fluid. This treatment performing vaginally so there are no incisions or scars.  All donors are given twilight anesthesia to ensure that they do not feel any pain during the retrieval.

Donors can not drive or exert themselves on the day of retrieval. We advise donors are not to engage in any hard activity on the day of retrieval, as well as for a few days before and after. Most women, on the other hand, may return to their normal life within 24-48 hours.

During their healing, many donors suffer symptoms that are similar to those of a menstrual period. Cramping, nausea, and spotting may be experienced. Our nurse will give all donors pain pills to help with any cramping. Also, check in with donors following the retrieval to make sure they are doing well.
