Letter to My Egg Donor
My lovely egg donor,
I’m in love with my life!. Also, I don’t know who you are, but I have a unique connection with you that I’d like to share. I don’t need to meet you, and I don’t expect anything from you because you’ve already given me everything. I simply wanted to express my gratitude let you know how much you have improved my life on your own.
So I was one of many young women confronted with the infertility epidemic 17 years ago. I’d always known that being a mother was in the cards for me; I simply wasn’t expecting all of the jokers to show up first. What trying years these had been for me! They told me that I require an egg donor when I was 30, and you can imagine how distraught I was.
When I made the decision to use donor eggs.
I let go of my hopes for a normal pregnancy and began my search. So I found you right away! I felt fully at ease when I saw a beautiful photo of you. Although you were attractive in the photo, it was the inner beauty and glint in your eye that drew my attention, not your eye color, hair color, or size. My friends and family frequently tell me how much they like my spirit and inner beauty, and your grin struck a chord with me.
My life is so complete because of you. Not only do I have my lovely twin boys, but I also became pregnant with my third son just a few months after the birth of my twins. It’s said that you’re most fertile shortly after giving birth, and I found this to be accurate. What a pleasant surprise! After going through this, I have so much sympathy and understanding for people who are going through similar experiences that I’ve turned it into a vocation I like.
So, when I woke up today and looked at my boys, my profession, and my life, I realized how fortunate I am. I’m grateful for you, my sweet egg donor, and for the way the stars aligned to bring us together in such a unique way. You have no idea how much you have made a difference in my life! I hope your life is as rich and full of love as mine is every day. Thank you very much!
